Each engages technicians have to present documents that confirm his education, qualification, experience of work and recommendation from previous job.
Staff of Ultrasonic Control Department has higher education by shipbuilding engineer profession. They has a perfect knowledge in hull’s structures, as it is the basis of skill gotten in Institute of Marine Engineers, as same as a practice knowledge gotten during practical training at ship repair yards.
Since they had graduated from Institute of Marine Engineers they worked as UTM operators and inspectors of hull structures and arrangements.
UTM operators of our company use for carrying out of ultrasonic measurements on board vessel following documents: “Branch standard. Nondestructive control of half-finished goods and fabricated metal products. Thickness measurements by ultrasonic means. all-Union State Standard 5.5550-85” and “Shipbuilding and Repair Quality Standard”. These documents determine the methods of gauging and determination of hull damages (recognition of corrosion, cracks, buckles, edge thinning, laminating and etc.).
Operators were examined in accordance with “Initial Training Program for Operators”. Results of examination were positive.
All of our technicians have qualification corresponding to Level II. (Certificates of Competence)
